South Korean boy band sensations NCT 127 make their presence felt in a MAJOR way this week, with the unveiling of their sixth studio album ‘WALK’.
Made up of 11 sonically diverse, eclectic, and experimental sounding tracks – including the projects lead single of the same name – the LP serves as the groups first full release of 2024, and embodies their shared ambition to “push the boundaries” and usher in a new era of Korean pop,
‘WALK’ Track-list:
1. Intro: Wall to Wall
2. Walk
3. No Clue
4. Orange Seoul
5. Pricey
6. Time Capsule
7. Can’t Help Myself
8. Rain Drop
9. Gas
10. Suddenly
11. Meaning of Love
Opening to the nostalgic, old-skool sound of ‘Intro: Wall to Wall’, which sees the band reflect on their career thus far, the pace of proceedings soon changes as the albums powerful title track ‘Walk’ pulls immediate focus with its arresting energy and irrepressible beat.
Filled with boom bap-style drums, and retro guitar riffs, the utterly infectious, early 00’s inspired track finds the members of NCT 127 at their most confident, as they sing of their pride in forging their own path rather than following someone else’s.
Stand out tracks include ‘No Clue’ – an upbeat hip-hop, soul, and funk infused pop bop that celebrates “living free without being weighed down by thoughts”, ‘Pricey’, an honest examination of love’s many costs, ‘Rain Drop’, a soulful R&B tune about articulating one’s inner feelings, and ‘Suddenly’, an intense portrayal of gradual attraction.
