This is not a drill…Ed Sheeran is finally making his return to the music world this Friday!
On December 13 2015, the singer announced that he would be taking a hiatus from social media, meaning that there would also be no new music. However, he promised to return in the autumn with a third album.
Exactly a year later, on December 13 2016, Ed broke his social media silence. He caused mass hysteria simply by giving his profile a blue makeover.

Yesterday, on the final day of the year, Ed also made an appearance on Snapchat, posting a selfie to his Snapchat story.

With the midnight bells ringing across the world, we all made it through to 2017 but still none the wiser as to when we would get to hear new music from Ed Sheeran.
Not one to let us down, Ed has finally confirmed that there will be new music from him on Friday. He took to social media this morning to post a short video, in which he is holding a sign saying ‘New music coming Friday!!’. He also gives his fan a cheeky grin and wave – oh how we’ve missed you Ed!
