Welcome back to another New Music Round Up! As the weather hots up, a number of our favourite artists are also ready to spice up the chart with their new releases.
This week saw the welcome return of Kesha who released ‘Praying’, her first solo single in around four years. Zedd and Liam Payne came together for a fab new collab, whilst Sabrina Carpenter, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Haenow, and Coldplay all dropped new offerings. Additionally, there were new music releases from Barei, Wiktoria, Rose Gray and Darius Rucker.

HAIM – ‘Kept Me Crying’
HAIM released their second studio album Something To Tell You this week, and ‘Kept Me Crying’ is one of its highlights. Combining an easy-listening beat with electric guitar, the song has both an old-school and modern vibe to it. With lyrics such as “You kept me crying for so long that my tears have dried,” the rousing track showcases HAIM at their best. The rest of their album was also well worth the wait, so make sure you go and check it out now!
AlunaGeorge – ‘Turn Up The Love’ / ‘Last Kiss’
Electronic duo AlunaGeorge, made up of singer-songwriter Aluna Francis and producer George Reid, are back with TWO incredible new songs. ‘Turn Up The Love’ is an upbeat track, whilst ‘Last Kiss’ is more down-tempo but carries a strong tropical beat. Speaking about the tracks in a press release, Aluna said: “The creative concept is to release two tracks, one upbeat song and one ballad, to symbolize ‘light and shade’ and highlight the duality of both songs.”
Cash Cash – ‘All My Love’ featuring Conor Maynard
Cash Cash are back with a new offering called ‘All My Love’. This time, they’ve teamed up with singer and YouTube sensation Conor Maynard for the infectious dance track. The song is a bop throughout and we’re particularly fond of the tropical drop. Speaking about working with Conor, Cash Cash told Billboard: “He’s one of those singers that can just throw it down the first time and make it sound finished. We attached the production with a hyped energetic feel to give some contrast to the lyrics, and we’re very pleased with the way they complimented each other. The emotion in his voice really brought out the concept of the song, and gave us chills when we first listened back.” ‘All My Love’ follows on from Cash Cash’s last single ‘Matches’, which featured ROZES.
Only Girl – ‘Heights’
South London pop-soul artist Only Girl is back with ‘Heights’, a shimmering summer-ready R&B track which is a must add to any playlist. Speaking about the track, Only Girl said: “This song started life in my studio as just two chords on the piano, looping round and round. I wanted to create a really dream-like, hazy vibe to the track to convey that feeling of being with someone who lifts you up and gives you that sense of elation and strength; those support figures in our life who we reach out for when we feel broken.” ‘Heights’ follows on from Only Girl’s previous single, ‘Fortune’, which gained attention from Dermot O’Leary and Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist.
Leon of Athens – ‘Fire Inside You’
London-based Greek indie-pop experimentalist Leon Of Athens has released his new single ‘Fire Inside You’. The uptempo offering is mesmerising thanks to its infectious beat and Leon’s captivating vocals. The song addresses the powerful force of love across oceans and has been inspired by challenges that Leon has faced during his life so far. The single follows on from ‘Aeroplane’ and ‘Xenos’, with all three tracks taken from his forthcoming album produced by David Kosten (Bat For Lashes, Everything Everything).

BUTTERJACK – ‘Other Worlds’
‘Other Worlds’ is the debut single from producer and songwriter Butterjack. Not much is known about the 25-year-old musician from North West England, however, he has been making music for a number of years and is ready to share it with the world. ‘Other Worlds’ is a song about going to any lengths to show one’s love and being willing to travel the world to prove it. It’s a strong debut which showcases what Butterjack is capable of and we’re excited to hear what’s next!
Abi – ‘Matches’
‘Matches’ is the new single from Nashville based country/pop singer Abi. Speaking about the track, she said: “I truly cannot even put into words how ecstatic I am to be releasing new music! It’s been such an incredible experience working with so many talented beings and finding my own voice and sound. ‘Matches’ was truly the beginning of this discovery and I’m excited for you all to embark on this journey with me.” Abi will be releasing a new EP in the fall.
