Niall Horan dropped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge on Tuesday (April 18), and delivered another mesmerizing and marvellously musical session for his fans!

The Irish heartthrob joined the BBC segment as part of his promotions for his forthcoming album The Show. He stunned us and blew our minds during his performance by singing a soaring and soothing cover of Lizzy McAlpine‘s TikTok viral hit, “Ceilings.” Horan performed the song in his signature style while accompanying himself on an acoustic guitar, intensifying the emotions in the room while the backup vocalists added ethereal harmonies for a dreamy vibe!

If you use TikTok routinely, chances are you’ve probably heard Lizzy McAlpine’s captivating track, “Ceilings.” Released last April on McAlpine’s second album Five Seconds Flat, the song was never intended to be single, however, after her fans intervened, the song blew up on the popular social media platform and attracted massive fans everywhere.

The first time I heard “Ceilings,” I wondered how she managed to enter my head, read my mind and use all my innermost thoughts and deep secrets to pen down this song. I had never before heard someone so perfectly describe what it feels like to be such a hopeless romantic that you can fall in love with the random person who glanced at you for a brief moment or that you ran into them while rounding a corner too quickly.

The feeling that the song encompasses feels so universal and resonates well with millions of people! Don’t we all create these fictitious love situations in our heads, romanticising every encounter with the person we adore and planning our futures after only knowing each other for a week?

If you don’t believe me, watch Niall Horan’s gorgeous rendition of Lizzy McAlpine’s “Ceilings” in the Live Lounge which will ease all your troubles!

Niall Horan also performed his first single, “Heaven,” off the upcoming third studio album, The Show.

“Doesn’t get, doesn’t get better than, better than this/ God only knows where this could go/ And even if our love starts to go out of control/ And you let me go up in flames/ Heaven won’t be the same,” Horan croons on the track, again playing acoustic guitar, and left his audience wowed! Trust me, I’ll be replaying this video on the loop for the rest of the time.

“Heaven” marks Horan’s first release since singles “Our Song” and “Everywhere” cover, his 2021 collaborations with Anne-Marie. His forthcoming third solo studio album, The Show, will follow the success of his sophomore album, Heartbreak Weather, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in March 2020.

The Show drops on June 9. Pre-save/pre-order here!

The second single “Meltdown” off the album is slated to release on April 28. Pre-save here!

Tune in and watch Niall Horan’s BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge “Heaven” (oh so heavenly) performance below!
