Niall Horan to play in next month’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

We might not be seeing much of One Direction, but it’s good to see boys pursuing what they love the most. Niall Horan’s love for golf is well-known. The Irish singer will be playing in the next month’s Alfred Dunhill’s Links Championship.

Last year, Horan caddied for Rory McIlroy in the traditional  tournament curtain-raiser to The Masters in Augusta. This time, Horan will not be taking part in the tournament to just show his love for the sport. The singer has some goals in mind.

As everyone knows, Niall is a partner in Modest! Golf management company. He also teamed up with Justin Rose and raised £800,000 for charity. His aim is to encourage youngsters to take up sports.

Be it Niall or Louis or Liam, the boys have always shown their enthusiasm for sports and now Niall is using his time to do something for people who share this love.

In an interview, he explained the purpose of his participation:

“Helping more people to take up golf, especially those who cannot afford it or for whom it is difficult, is something I am very passionate about. I am delighted to see the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation actively supports young golfers.”

Alfred Dunhill’s championship comprises of two competitions- the one in which some of best golfers from across the world come together for an individual professional tournament and the second competition where these professionals are paired with amateurs. The tournament offers a unique opportunity to people who are serious about golf and Niall wants to make most of it.

As described on the site, admission will free for spectators for the first three days  and the tickets for the final day that is, October 9 is available to purchase at the entrance gates for £20 (Seniors £15) or in advance online.

What do you expect from this tournament? Tell us @CelebMix and share your love for Niall.
