Nick Jonas has dropped a music video for “Champagne Problems”. This is the sixth music video to be taken from his third studio album “Last Year Was Complicated”.
This means that half the tracks on his most recent album has a music video. “Champagne Problems” follows “Close (feat. Tove Lo)“, “Chainsaw“, “Bacon (feat. Ty Dollar $ign)“, “Under You“, and “Voodoo“. He confirmed that he plans to do 11 music videos for this album.
This music video was directed by Colin Tilley. He has directed some of the biggest music videos, including Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” and Jason Derulo’s “Want To Want Me“. He was nominated for a Grammy award in 2016 for Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright“. Not only that, but Colin Tilley has also been announced as the director for Britney Spears’ “Slumber Party” which will feature Tinashe.

The song was written by Nick Jonas, Jason Evigan, Sean Douglas, Jonathan Tucker, and PJ Bianco. Whilst it was produced by Jason Evigan.
Nick Jonas is on the dancefloor in the club, acting cool with a blazer and sunglasses. In some scenes, he can be seen sitting on the floor whilst girls dance around him. We’ve all been there, fell over and refused to get up in our drunken state, but we’ve never looked that good sitting in the middle of the dancefloor.
The video itself mimics drunken behaviour, the switch of scenes as well as the blurred content makes us think we have “Champagne Problems” too.
He manages to attract plenty of girls around him, much to his girl’s disgust, which practically leads to her walking away, drinking the bottle of champagne.
At first watch, this is just a simple club music video, where the singer is drinking away and loving the female attention. But as per usual, with a Colin Tilley-directed music video, there’s a hidden narrative throughout. He last worked with Nick Jonas’ on the incredibly sexy video for “Levels“.
