There’s no doubt that Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande are the queens of collaborating. From ‘Get On Your Knees’, ‘Bang Bang’ with Jessie J, to ‘Side To Side’, over the years Nicki and Ari have delivered bop after bop, always leaving us wanting more.
Today (June 14) sees Nicki and Ariana slay us once more with the sultry ‘Bed’, taken from Nicki’s forthcoming album Queen. If that wasn’t enough, the ladies will also be releasing ‘The Light Is Coming’ next week, taken from Ariana’s forthcoming album Sweetener.
‘Bed’ is a seductive offering which showcases Nicki’s flawless verses whilst Ariana croons the infectious hook: “Got a bed, wit’ your name on it, wit’ your name on it, got a kiss, wit’ your name on it, wit’ your name on it”. The track is the perfect late night summer party jam and is another stellar offering from the collab queens.
Speaking about the collaboration on Twitter, Nicki said:
I’ve had #Bed for over a year. The day Ari came by my studio I played her what I did on #TLIC (which comes out next week ?) and she offered to get on smthn for #Queen. I couldn’t think of anything that would match us. When she left, Jean said: BED!!! We all started SCREAMING!!!

I had been on the hook for a year so it never dawned on me to put someone else. Let me tell u smthn, Ari did it & sent it RIGHT back. Added all these beautiful harmonies & runs. Never over does it. Just ALWAYS gets it right. I fell in love. I called her screaming. OMG. #Bed

It seems that ‘Bed’ could have turned out quite differently, as Nicki had also considered teaming up with ZAYN for the track. In reference to the lyric “Coulda put ZAYN on it”, Nicki tweeted a fan that it was a “double meaning for putting him on it. Meaning I could’ve asked him to feature on the song; something I thought about a year ago when I 1st completed the song.”
Take a listen to ‘Bed’ below.
‘Bed’ is the latest track to be released from Queen, following on from ‘Chun-Li’ and ‘Real Tingz’ featuring Lil Wayne. Queen will be released on August 10 and includes a mammoth 19 tracks. You can pre-order the album now.
If new music wasn’t enough, Nicki also recently announced her forthcoming North American and European tour with Future. The North American leg of the NICKIHNDRXX tour will kick off in Baltimore on September 21 and finish in Las Vegas on November 24.
