Nicki Minaj drops the music video for “No Frauds”

Nicki Minaj has finally dropped the video for No Frauds. The video is a collaborative project that she undertook with Drake and Lil Wayne. This is not the first time that they have come together for a project. In the year 2014, Minaj, Wayne, and Drake released two tracks titled Only and Truffle Butter. With the kind of success they all have accomplished, the collaboration can be seen as the biggest hip-hop collaboration of the year 2017.

Nicki took to Twitter to announce the release of the video.

No Frauds contains multiple layers and there is not one interpretation that can limit the meaning of its lyrics. For instance, if we listen to the lyrics closely, it seems like Minaj’s musical response to Remy Ma’s track “shETHER”.

I ain’t in the projects, but all my bricks is up, rrrr

You can’t be Pablo if your work ain’t sellin’

Responding to Remy Ma’s disses, Minaj mocks her album and says that she can’t be Nas as her album isn’t selling. Minaj is trying to show that figures matter and in terms of sales, Remy does not come any closer to her. The music rivalry of Minaj and Remy Ma has a history of its own. The two artists have always been in bittersweet competition with each other and most of their responses to each other come through their musical tracks.

Studded in jewelry, Minaj roams the beautiful streets of London taking her time to answer her opponent. Starting out her journey on the foggy streets, the rapper culminates the song by taking on her throne on side of Lil Wayne. Minaj is trying to establish her authority through the track and does so successfully.

But that’s just Minaj’s side of the story. For Drake, the song is more of a contemplation on his fame and the same goes for Lil Wayne. As said earlier, the meaning of lyrics depends on the person listening to the track. If you still haven’t checked it out, listen to the song below:

Minaj’s tweets tell that she will soon be releasing the video for Regret In Your Tears.
