Last week, Nicki Minaj’s iconic music video for ‘Anaconda’ celebrated its first birthday. On this occassion, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas decided to unveil a stunning wax figure of the rapper.
The masterpiece is the work of over 20 artists, who spent almost six months sculpting, decorating and painting Nicki’s likeness. She is displayed in her now-famous pose on all fours, wearing her exact outfit from the ‘Anaconda’ video, and is surrounded by jungle-themed props.
The unveiling took place on August 4th. It included backup dancers and, of course, ‘Anaconda’ playing in the background.
The rapper herself took to Instagram to express her excitement, stating that the unveiling was a surprise to her.
Minaj’s figure will be a permanent part of the display inside the museum’s Music Room. She is the first female rapper to ever receive a wax figure.
