What Is Sidelined 3 About?
Set two years after the events of Sidelined 2: Intercepted, the third film follows USC quarterback Drayton Lahey as he arrives in New York City with his sights set on the Heisman Trophy.
However, football isn’t the only thing bringing him to the city.
Dallas Bryan, his former high school sweetheart, is also in New York, building her career and navigating her love life alongside Skyler while chasing her dreams and moving forward with her life.
As their paths cross again, Drayton gets one last opportunity to prove that he is not just chasing a football trophy but also the person he never truly got over.
With everything on the line, Sidelined 3 will explore whether the former couple can find their way back to each other or if their lives have moved in different directions.

Why Is Sidelined 3 Happening?
The announcement comes after the success of Sidelined: The QB and Me, the 2024 Tubi Original based on Tay Marley’s popular Wattpad story The QB Bad Boy and Me.
Its sequel, Sidelined 2: Intercepted, went on to become a major success for the streaming platform, attracting a significant audience and becoming the most-watched title on Tubi during its first 30 days, according to the company.
The sequel also appeared on Variety‘s Streaming Original Movies Chart, which tracks the most-watched streaming original films using viewership data from Luminate.
Speaking about the announcement, Adam Lewinson, Chief Content Officer at Tubi, said the decision to greenlight the third film was driven by the enthusiastic response to the sequel.
“The fans have spoken! We’re excited to officially greenlight SIDELINED 3,” Lewinson said.
He added that the franchise’s success demonstrates how Tubi Originals can connect with young audiences and inspire passionate fandoms.
What Else Is Coming to Tubi?
The Sidelined franchise is part of Tubi’s growing slate of original content aimed at younger audiences.
In 2026, the platform premiered several coming-of-age films, including How to Lose a Popularity Contest, starring Sara Waisglass (Ginny & Georgia) and Chase Hudson (Downfalls High), and Kissing Is the Easy Part, featuring Asher Angel (Shazam! Fury of the Gods) and Paris Berelc (Alexa & Katie).
With Sidelined 3 now officially moving into production, fans can look forward to one final chapter in Drayton and Dallas’ story.
