At the end of season nine, Shameless lost Emmy Rossum (Fiona Gallagher) after she left the show, whilst Cameron Monaghan (Ian Gallagher) also exited the show with his character last seen going into prison.
Back in January, Shameless confirmed it will be coming back for a tenth season and now Noel Fisher has confirmed that his character, Mickey Milkovich, will be returning. Fisher was last seen in the sixth episode of season nine when his character was there to greet his ex boyfriend Ian (Monaghan) as he went into prison.

This was a huge surprise to fans as many thought that Fisher wouldn’t be reprising his role as Mickey after he was last seen in a 2016 episode of season seven. So, this is hugely exciting for ‘Gallavich’ shippers, who love Ian and Mickey’s relationship, as Monaghan is also set to return.

The official Shameless Twitter account posted a video featuring Noel as Mickey seemingly trying to dig his way out of prison by using a spoon. The account has now been named ‘Shameless will return with NOEL FISHER’, making the account look hacked.
It has also been confirmed that Noel will be a series regular which has fans excited about Mickey and Ian’s relationship inside jail. Monaghan acknowledged the news and congratulated his fellow actor on Twitter.
No premiere date for season 10 has been announced yet. But we are looking forward to seeing Mickey and Ian back on our screens again.
