One Direction Won Silver Clef’s Best Live Act Award

Harry, Louis, Niall, and Liam are currently on a hiatus from actively making music and touring as One Direction but they’ve still been bringing in awards, recognition, and honors for all they achieved in their first incredible chapter together.  It comes as no surprise to fans of the boys that their talent as a band is still being recognized as they explore different interests and solo projects, they’re a staple in the music industry!

On July 1st, their winning continued as One Direction won Silver Cleft’s Best Live Act Award!  This is the second time the boys took home this specific recognition and this team they beat out Adele, Ed Sheeran, and Little Mix for the top spot with more than 60% of the vote going to them.  Another amazing aspect of this award? It was the only fan-voted award of the day, showing how much their fans tirelessly believe in and support them.

The Silver Clef Awards also serve as a charity gala to support Nordoff-Robbins, a music therapy for children with physical, developmental, or psychological disabilities.  Music has long been hailed as a healing technique and music therapy goes to prove that no matter what, everyone can respond to and be touched by music – it’s the universal language.

For One Direction, winning this award was incredible, but to win it at an award ceremony that supports such an amazing cause was even more special.  With Louis, Harry, Niall, and Liam being on a break – they didn’t attend the ceremony but recognized what an honor it was to win this award for the second time.

Thank you to all our fans for voting. Our live show is so important and it is amazing for this to be recognised… for the second time.

Over £602,000 was raised through the night for Nordoff Robbins and other winners of the night included Lionel Richie and Olly Murs, among others, placing One Direction in good company.

You can find out more about the Silver Clef Awards and Nordoff Robbins here, and don’t forget to tweet One Direction and tell them congratulations on yet another incredible award while they continue to enjoy their hiatus.
