Los Angeles-based indie-pop duo Peppermint Heaven releases the music video, “Paradise,” a track from their recently released EP, Poptropolis.

Speaking about the EP, the pair shares, “After moving in a more 70s rock direction with our last EP – ‘Rocktropolis,’ we felt inspired to return to the ‘80s influenced synthpop sound our fans love so much. ‘Poptropolis’ is a heavenly taste of what we do best.”

Peppermint Heaven comprises Spark (vocals, bass, drums), and Juno (vocals, keyboards). The duo exploded on the scene in 2014, with the release of “Plenty of Time,” followed by a series of albums, singles, EPs, and remixes, amassing more than 13 million streams on Spotify.

The twosome’s catalog of remixes includes collaborations with Full Intention, Moto Blanco, Lynx, FNP, AM2PM, Seamus Haji, Almighty, Chords, Danvers, Oscuro, and Revaux. A trio of EPs – Red Balloons, Dreams, and New Sensation – were remixed by DRYVE, Crackazat, Mark Lower, Oscuro, and the legendary Chris Cox.

Along with features in elite outlets, Peppermint Heaven has amassed over 400,000 views on TikTok. In 2021, they released their single, “I Can Be Your Star,” which was supported by remixes from Stonebridge, Jet Boot Jack. and Jose Spinnin Cortes.

“Paradise” opens on a throbbing disco-flavored rhythm topped by gleaming leitmotifs and luscious pulsating synths. An evocative voice accompanied by glowing, wah-wah-oo harmonies imbues the lyrics with warm, nostalgic tones, while a velvety falsetto injects the tune with luminous textures.

“Do you remember our younger lives / We were together like Paradise / There was no else but me and you / We always came shining through / We built a world that no one could break through.”

The video, produced by Chris Cox, depicts a couple at a theme park, surrounded by flashing lights and rides. As they enjoy cotton candy and ride the Ferris Wheel, their feelings for each other sparkle in the night.

Drenched in delicious washes of synth-pop riding pushing beat, “Paradise” thrums with palpable, polished energy.
