LA-based guitarist/rock-n-roll artist Pete Wilde just released his debut album, “Sugar and Smoke.” which combines black culture and rock-n-roll.
Wilde is a rising rock-n-roll artist from Oakland, CA. His music career was influenced by his stepfather who was the saxophonist for Prince and wants to breathe black culture back into the genre. After losing his best friend to murder and being fueled by drugs and alcohol, Wilde wound up in jail, where he was inspired to write music.
“Sugar and Smoke” is a metaphor for good and bad- make songs sound light and fun but if you peel back the layers, they are rooted in dark places.
