Wasting no time after dropping his iconic and popular eight-track EP, “3 Days, 2 Nights“, PLS&TY has drifted into a whole new sonic direction, teaming up with Sofiya Nzau on his awesome new track “Your Love”. The track sees him diversify even more as he mixes his signature house style and Swahili house music with the track including both Swahili and English language lyrics with exceptional vocals coming from rising Kenyan star, Sofiya Nzau. This acts as the official follow-up to his EP – which we interviewed him about – and is the follow-up to Sofiya Nzau’s collaboration with Blaq Jerzee, titled “Oroboto”.
PLS&TY, real name Tommy Leas, is a viral artist in the electronic dance music scene who has already amassed over 100 million streams across platforms – ignoring the fact that he reached over 1 billion streams for his feature in a Hershey’s chocolate television commercial. He continues to be a force to be reckoned with, having gone on to be remixed by Grammy-nominated Morgan Page, Rusko, Cazzette, Bondax, and YehMe2, as well as extensively touring top festivals such as Shaky Beats, Breakaway, Electric Forest, EDC Vegas, and more. Written by Michael Doerr and Sofiya Nzau, whilst it was produced by Thomas Leas, “Your Love” is a deep house track with a main Swahili choral performance that dominates the track iconically with PLS&TY giving off Galantis vibes through and through. He has mixed tribal beats around the addictive chorus flowing it widely across the track riding the deep, groovy basslines. Shining from start to finish is Sofiya Nzau, who grabs the spotlight with her awesome vocals from the get-go; her authenticity, emotion, and passion are on top form, and it’s no wonder why she’s such a rising talent – we can’t wait to watch her career soar. PLS&TY continues to impress when the first drop hits, creating an explosion of drums, synths, and vocal interpolations that sonically intensifies the track to 11, and we’re so not mad about it. The track continues on a rhythmic heart trajectory, reminiscent of first love and the passion one feels during that intense time.
