Accomplished Canadian singer-songwriter Olivia Wik has already penned over 300 songs, but now it is her time to shine, as CelebMix premiere her latest single, “When I Was Drunk”:
““When I Was Drunk” is the kind of song you dance alone in your room to when you’re feeling down”, Olivia says. “The kind of song you sing along to at the top of your lungs when it comes on in the car.”
“I wrote this new track with Tino Zolfo and Todd Wright, and it was produced by the incredible duo Towers. It couldn’t have been a more wonderful/stress-free experience! From beginning to end, we allowed ourselves to have fun with it.”
The song is up-tempo 80’s inspired electro-dance pop and is insanely catchy. Paired with an aesthetically pleasing music video consisting of stunning visuals, we simply can’t get enough of the song.
Olivia has always loved music, and joked that she would sing more than she talked. When she picked up a guitar for the first time at eight years old, she knew that this was what she wanted to do.
Having already had success as a songwriter, Olivia was a nominee at the 2014 Edmonton Music Awards in the ‘Artist To Watch’ category, 2014 ACMA Song of the Year nominee and a 5-time nominee for ACMA Female Artist and Fan’s Choice.
Olivia has also written songs with over 100 songwriters from across the globe, spanning countries such as Barbados and Japan.
With a song as catchy and irresistible as “When I Was Drunk”, things are just getting started for Olivia Wik. We can’t wait to hear more music from her!
“When I Was Drunk” is available to presave on music streaming services and will be released on Friday April 26th!
