Celebrated future house producer R3HAB recently dropped two new tracks. The first is a remix of Jason Derulo’s “Take You Dancing,” via Atlantic Records, while the second is a brand new single, “Love You Again,” featuring Olivia Holt, on Hollywood Records.
Apparently never pausing, R3HAB teamed up with Thutmose & Rema on “Love In The Morning,” as well as hooking up with EDM diva Amba Shepherd on a new version of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
R3HAB’s cataclysmic shake up of the music industry began in 2017, when he released his debut album, Trouble, which has collected more than 500,000,000 streams. He followed with The Wave, amassing 250 million streams, generating hit singles such as “Hold On Tight” and “Lullaby.”
With his original music and his official remixes, including NOTD, Rammstein, Tom Walker, Sofi Tukker, Danny Ocean, Kygo, The Chainsmokers, and P!ink, along with many others, R3HAB is currently the most discovered artist on Spotify.
Signed to Hollywood Records, singer and actress Olivia Holt has done it all, appearing in Hollywood feature films, on television, and releasing hit music.
The remix of Derulo’s “Take You Dancing” opens on oozing colors segueing into a powerfully pulsing rhythm capped by thrumming, plump textures vibrating on muscular washes.
“Love You Again” rides a Jovian kick-drum and clacking percussion, while creamy, sparkling hues percolate overhead, gliding on tasty, alluring textures. Olivia’s evocative tones infuse the lyrics with tantalizing wisps of recollection as she narrates her feelings of heartache and unrequited love.
I love the teeter-tottering tremble of the beat, imbuing the tune with a bewitching cadence as the harmonics sizzle and crackle with effervescent energy.
Both tracks display the luxurious creativity of R3HAB, replete with subtle sonic allusions and dance oomph.
Although totally different in sound, texture, and pressure, “Take You Dancing” and “Love You Again” deliver the genius of R3HAB.
