RAYE has just dropped a brand spanking new single titled, ‘Cigarette’ and it features some pretty exciting female artists, Mabel & Stefflon Don!
‘Cigarette’ was released on 22nd February 2018, after RAYE tweeted fans that ‘New Music Ft. the Gyaldem’ would be available on all music services at 6:00pm tonight. With no warning, fans were in awe of the unexpected single, some even claiming that the single was already a success based on the line-up alone.
The single is a follow up to RAYE’s previous single, ‘Decline’ featuring Nigerian singer, Mr. Eazi. The single also received an official remix, which featured ‘Barking’ rapper, Ramz on the single instead of Mr. Eazi. However on ‘Cigarette’, it’s an all-female squad as RAYE has teamed up with her fellow ladies, Mabel and Stefflon Don.
‘Cigarette’ is yet another single the South London singer has released in anticipation for her debut studio album. With previous singles, ‘The Line’ and ‘Decline’, we don’t think we can wait much longer for this album to be released.
You may recognise the featured artists on the single from their own successful material. Mabel’s hit single, ‘Finders Keepers’ peaked at number eight in the UK Singles Chart last year and Stefflon Don’s hit single, ‘Hurtin’ Me’ also gained Top 10 status in the UK Singles Chart.
The single comes a day after The BRITs 2018, where featured artists, Mabel and Stefflon Don were both nominated for Critics’ Choice. Upon arriving to the ceremony, all ladies on the track not only attended, but also served some serious looks:
If the previous singles released by these ladies are anything to go by, ‘Cigarette’ is already a certified hit single, ready to dominate the charts in the UK. As 2018 is in full swing, we can’t wait to hear more from these ladies as their rise to success in the industry is only beginning and will continue to increase.
