Indie-Americana trio The 27 are back in the studio following their sun-kissed video for ‘Ready to Run’. This latest offering was a single tinged with melancholic nostalgia detailing the teething problems many of us suffer through as a result of growing from a teenager into an adult.
Both the song and its video are reminiscent of west coast bands in the 1960s but The 27 tailor their sound enough to ensure that the song somehow still feels very much of the 21st century.
The video gives us full-on beachy vibes, as frontman Henry Parker navigates the world with confusion, running along the beach searching for something which cannot be seen or named. The influence of friend Margo Price’s country-Americana know-how is also evident, as is the input of British producer Mike Hurst, who took the Oxford-born musician under his wing.
The band have been hard at work building their fanbase the traditional way – through hard work and gigging at every opportunity. It’s honest hard work and putting in the hours like this which have allowed the band to amass 40k views on this latest offering.
With music and visuals this sublimely transportive, it’s going to seem like a long wait for this album to drop… In the meantime, watch the sunkissed yet melancholic video for ‘Ready to Run’ below!
