‘The X Factor’ burst back on to our screens on Saturday 1 September, with a brand new judging line-up, comprising of Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and Ayda Williams.
The show is now in its fifteenth series and has undergone a number of drastic changes over the years such as dramatic exits, changes to the line-up and more, but it seems like this year’s series is set to be a success, if the first episode is anything to go by. With good chemistry between the Judges and some exceptional performances already shown, we can’t wait for the series to continue!
Here at CelebMix, we have done a recap of the first episode. Keep reading to fill yourself in on what happened on the episode!
First up was boy band ‘No Labels.’ They performed up-tempo track ‘Suit & Tie.’ The Judges were left quite underwhelmed with their performance, and the four-piece unfortunately didn’t progress to the next stage of the show.
The next audition shown was Danny Tetley. He delivered an absolutely phenomenal and extremely emotional performance of ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.’ He served as a fine example of not giving up on your dreams and he is through to Bootcamp.

Duo Misunderstood – made up of members Stefan and Jeff – delivered an incredible performance of their original track ‘Juicy Fruit.’ With a combination of vocals and dance moves, their performance was extremely energetic and we loved their audition!
Kezia Povey delivered a performance of ‘You Are The Reason.’ Charlotte Lee performed ‘What About Us.’ Both contestants were given the advice from the Judges that they would be better suited in a girl band.
Molly Scott took to the stage next. Despite being only sixteen year old, her vocals were off the scale, truly breath-taking. She performed an indescribable version of ‘It’s A Man’s World,’ and is through to Bootcamp.
Even though he had amazing visuals to start of his audition, Ross Alexander’s audition didn’t impress the Judges, before seemingly walking off the stage after making a rude remark to Judge Ayda.
Livia & The Elementals were another disappointing audition. Livia sang, while her ‘Elementals’ danced behind her. Judge Robbie described their performance as ‘Cirque De No Way’ – they didn’t make it to Bootcamp.
Janice Robinson was the next contestant. She performed hit ‘Dreamer,’ which was released twenty-three years ago. She performed vocals on the track when it was first released and her audition was definitely a stand-out from the episode, with Robbie getting emotional about the track.
The last audition shown was Andy Hofton. When he performed ‘Angels,’ Robbie got up on-stage to join him in his performance, with a stand-out and very memorable duet to wrap up the first episode of the new series.
‘The X Factor’ continues on ITV on Saturday 2 September at 8 pm. The show have released a preview of tonight’s episode:
