Singer and song-writer James Arthur is currently embarking on his debut headline arena tour around the UK and Ireland. On Monday 20 November, he brought his ‘Back From The Edge Tour’ to Belfast, along with special guest Ella Henderson.
Here at CelebMix, we were lucky enough to attend the Belfast tour date. Keep reading to check out our review of the tour!
Ella Henderson, who appeared on the same series of ‘The X Factor’ as James Arthur, was phenomenal during her 45-minute set. She performed some of her older material, such as ‘Glow’ and ‘Yours’, but she also took the opportunity to perform some of her new material, revealing that her second studio album was set for release at the beginning of 2018.
During her set, which also featured a live band, she performed a cover of ‘Too Good’ by Drake featuring Rihanna – we loved her version! Her set was nicely rounded up with her performance of debut single ‘Ghost,’ which was released back in 2014.

Following an interval, it was then time for James Arthur to take to the stage. The atmosphere within the arena was absolutely indescribable. He began his set with ‘Back From The Edge,’ which inevitably had the crowd singing and dancing along. His staging was extremely basic and stripped back, with the emphasis on the live band and vocals.
As his set continued, he took things back to where his career started, with debut single ‘Impossible,’ which was his Winner’s Single, whenever he won ‘The X Factor’ back in 2012. This was one of several opportunities where he thanked everyone who had supported him throughout his career.

Along with performing several tracks from his most recent studio album, he also performed several tracks from his first studio album, including ‘Certain Things.’ The honesty and purity of his live performances was extremely visible. His most recent album ‘Back From The Edge’ is extremely honest and personal, highlighting his true talent as not only a singer, but also a song-writer.
The two most emotional and breath-taking performances from the night were ‘Can I Be Him’ and ‘Safe Inside.’ His set featured an extremely poignant tribute, to honour the late George Michael.
For the encore, he performed ‘Sun Comes Up,’ and his set was rounded up by Number 1 single ‘Say You Won’t Let Go.’
