Ricky Retro has teamed up with Love Harder to ring in the new year with his appropriately-titled new single, “Happy New Year”.

If you were looking for a song to kick off 2020 with a bang, then look no further than this catchy and synth-heavy house anthem. However, if you look beyond the song’s instrumental, you’ll also realise that this is in fact a break-up song, about wishing your ex-lover well as you try to forget them for the new year.
“Since it takes the earth 365 days to revolve around the Sun it’s only fair we celebrate it with a song,” Love Harder said of his feature on the track. “I always wanted to make a birthday or holiday song and this was the perfect time to do it, and the perfect match up with Ricky Retro.
“Get ready to flush out 2019 to make room for the new 20s.”
Ricky Retro is known for combining his live of southern rock and country music with dance music, which has enabled him to win fans over. Some of his first releases include the catchy tune “DALE” and the American anthem “Murica”, while he most recently teamed up with Swedish duo Icona Pop for “Freak On Me”. “Happy New Year” is Retro’s debut single release under the Ultra Records brand.
Meanwhile, Love Harder, aka Will Simms, is also a DJ and producer. His single “Oblivation” featuring Amber Van Day attracted over 8 million streams on Spotify, with the DJ recently co-writing and co-producing on Lost Frequencies’ “Beat Of My Heart”.
