The wait is over! Fans who have early awaited the return of two of music’s most iconic artists are in for a lovely surprise.
Rihanna’s highly anticipated album, ANTi, and Kanye West’s equally anticipated album, Waves, both leaked onto the Internet Wednesday night.
Rihanna’s album contains 13 tracks; and the popular hits “Bitch Better Have My Money”, “FourFiveSeconds” and the politically charged “American Oxygen” do not make an appearance. The album contains a collaboration with SZA and the recently released collaboration with Drake entitled “Work”. In response to the leaks, Rihanna officially released the album; as of this writing, it is available to stream on Tidal and Google Play. Tidal is offering a free download to anyone who’s interested, you can access it here.
A video, posted online showcasing the track list and potential album cover, has circulated massively around Twitter specifically, and although only a select few have appeared to have attained a copy of the album through a possible security breach through the streaming service Tidal, we base our information on the alleged Kanye leak solely on allegations. A leak of the official studio version has yet to be confirmed. Kanye’s album, recently named “Waves” and formerly known as “Swoosh” and “Swish” allegedly features collaborations with Drake, Chance the Rapper and Post Malone. Comprised of only 11 tracks, one might wonder why the amount of songs is so low considering how long it’s been since Kanye’s last release. An official release date has been slated for February 11th.
Many have criticized both Kanye and Rihanna alike for their allegedly problematic methods of promotion and some have questioned their lack of artistic presence on both albums, but only time will tell just how well these albums are generally received upon official release.
