Roman Kemp Joins ‘Karate With Anne-Marie’

Anne-Marie recently started her own YouTube series ‘Karate With Anne-Marie‘ having previously had The Vamps on as special guests, this weeks episode features Roman Kemp.

The weekly series sees Anne-Marie and some special guests being taught the traditional Japanese style of Shotokan which the singer is a former triple world champion in. This weeks episode sees Roman being taught the basics including Kamae, Kiai (the sound you make to scare people), Nunchucks and Knife Defence. Anne-Marie proves she’s the demanding teacher making her pupil repeat sections because they’re not aggressive enough for her liking. Looks like a new career could be on the cards! We love how much fun the duo have from the start with the warm-up and the expectation to do the splits bringing on the giggles. Favourite moment? Roman: “Why’s my belt white and yours is black?” Anne-Marie: “Because you’re rubbish“. Before Anne-Marie teaches Roman and the viewers the belt colour grading. Scoring a 9 out of 10 for his efforts beating The Vamps and their 7 out of 10 from last week.

Karate has been a big part of Anne-Marie’s life since she started the sport when she was just nine years old. Her debut EP released in 2015 was entitled Karate and was also the name of her very first single. We love seeing different sides of artists and find out more about their hobbies and things they enjoy doing when they aren’t performing or creating the music we love.

We’re still crossing our fingers that Anne-Marie gets in touch to asks us to team up with her for an episode so we can show off our best moves and score the elusive 10 out of 10. But for now, we’ll just have to make do with seeing Anne-Marie on tour across the UK/Europe next year!

Who would you love to see appear as a guest on the series (apart from us obviously)? Tweet us @CelebMix and let us know!

Unashamedly in love with pop music and boybands. I'm always looking for new artists to check out, so send them my way and you might be able to be smug knowing you helped me find a new favourite band. You'll probably say I have long hair, most people do.
