The upcoming Netflix series based on Archie Comics’ “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” has finally cast the love interest for Sabrina: Ross Lynch will be portraying Harvey Kinkle in the reboot of the 90’s hit series “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch”.
According to TV Line, Ross Lynch’s character is described as: “The prince charming of this dark fairy tale, Harvey is the son of a coal miner, a dreamboat and a dreamer, completely unaware of the dark forces conspiring to keep him and Sabrina apart.”
The yet-to-be-titled show was originally meant for The CW, as a companion series to “Riverdale.” The new series has been given a two-season order at Netflix.
In addition to Lynch, the series will star “Mad Men” alum Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, as well as Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Chance Perdomo, Michelle Gomez, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, and Bronson Pinchot.
The chief creative officer of Archie Comics, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, will serve as writer and executive producer. In January he told The Hollywood Reporter that the reboot is “a darker, more macabre version of Sabrina.”
Lee Toland Krieger, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater, who are all working on “Riverdale” will executive produce the show.
