We have another new single from Ruth Lorenzo as she continues to tease about her second studio album, Loveaholic. This week saw her release the title single from the album. “Loveaholic” really does explain this album as a whole and this song is bound to be a stand-out track on the LP.
The song follows up previously released songs “Good Girls Don’t Lie” and “My Last Song“. The album will contain 12 tracks, and if you pre-order right now, you’ll get the three released songs instantly, as well as any more that are released before 9 March 2018 – we are certainly hoping for one more promo single release come 2 March 2018, we can only hope.
“Loveaholic” was bound to be a rich track, especially since the album is named after this specific song. What we didn’t expect was the class that Ruth Lorenzo brings, some controlled vocals, and undeniable lyrics. The song was written by Ruth Lorenzo, George Tizzard, and Rick Parkhouse.

The song takes inspiration from the past, whilst refreshing it to today’s market. “Loveaholic” certainly feels like it belongs in a different era, yet Ruth Lorenzo dominates with a crisp vocal that works beyond anything we could imagine. It’s not a typical song that we expect from her, and yet that’s exactly what we needed from her as she proves she is a versatile singer with firehouse vocals.
If you don’t know who Ruth Lorenzo is, then we are wondering how big the rock is that you’ve been hiding under. She’s mostly known in the UK for coming fifth in the fifth series of The X Factor – people still talk about her Final Showdown performance of Prince’s “Purple Rain”. Then she represented Spain, her home country, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with “Dancing In The Rain” where she came tenth with 74 points. Capitalising on her name in Spain, she then took part in Tu Cara Me Suena – the Spanish version of Your Face Sounds Familiar – where she conquered and won.
“Loveaholic” is available to download and stream right now, through Raspberry Records. Her brand new album, that shares the same name, will be released on 9 March 2018 and is available to pre-order right now.
