This Artist 101 guide contains everything you need to know about Irish singer-songwriter Sarah McTernan.

    When is her birthday?

Sarah’s birthday is on 11 March.

What is her most popular song?

To date, McTernan’s most popular song is “22”, the song she will perform in Tel Aviv at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in May.

“22” is a fun, catchy song and the chorus gets stuck in your head instantly. The track gives off chilled, laid back vibes, and just generally makes you feel happy when listening.

What else should I know about Sarah?

Sarah McTernan is an Irish singer-songwriter who will be representing Ireland at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “22”.

From Scarriff, County Clare, McTernan plays piano, guitar and tin whistle. In 2011, the singer enrolled in a pre-nursing course before going on to study Music Technology at the Limerick Institute of Technology.

McTernan’s big break came in 2015 when she auditioned for the fourth season of The Voice of Ireland. She performed Jessie J’s “Who Are You” for her blind audition which saw all four coaches turning their chairs. McTernan chose to join Rachel Stevens’ team and made it all the way to the final, finishing third behind Emma Humber and Patrick James.

Last year, McTernan submitted a song called “Eye of the Storm” to San Marino’s online vote to select a song for the Eurovision Song Contest, seeing the selection as a massive opportunity.
