It’s our favourite time of the year, San Diego Comic Con! Over the next few days we’ll be keeping you updated with all the latest news from this year’s event, and today we’re kicking off with the brand new trailer for IT Chapter Two.
Ahead of the launch of SDCC today, New Line Cinema’s ScareDiego took place last night, and during the evening the intense (and frankly terrifying) new trailer for IT Chapter Two was revealed.
A teaser trailer had previously been released a few weeks ago, but this new trailer gives us a better insight into the horror facing The Losers Club this time around.
Directed by Andy Muschietti, Chapter Two takes place 27 years after the previous movie, with most of the now grown up Losers Club members having moved out of Derry, Maine. However, they soon reunite in their old stomping ground to try and put an end to Pennywise once and for all.
The official movie synopsis states, “Damaged by the experiences of their past, they must each conquer their deepest fears to destroy Pennywise once and for all…putting them directly in the path of the clown that has become deadlier than ever.”
We don’t want to spoil too much for you so check out the trailer for yourself below, but be warned, it’s gory AF in places!
During the panel for IT, audiences were also shown three extended clips from the forthcoming movie: the reunion of the Losers Club, Bill running through a carnival in search of a child who is apparently being hunted by It, and the gang returning to the old house which was seen at the end of the first movie.
The new cast for IT Chapter Two includes James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverley, Jay Ryan as Ben, Bill Hader as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, James Ransone as Eddie, and Andy Bean as Stan.
The original members of the Losers Club will also be reprising their roles: Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben. Bill Skarsgård also returns as Pennywise the Clown, aka the stuff of nightmares.
IT Chapter Two makes its way to cinemas in September.
