This is a big year for Selena fans! Just a few weeks ago, fans found out that the Tejano singer will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Fans also discovered that she will receive a wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood. Now, information came out about Selena’s new makeup collection!
Several months ago, MAC announced that the collection will be available in October. Recently, they offered a way fans can get Selena’s makeup collection early. MAC will allow early access to members-but no worries, you can still join the club!
The idea to create the Selena cosmetics line came from fans who started online petitions. MAC Senior Vice President James Gager states:
“We have heard the passion and enthusiasm from her fans and wholeheartedly agree that her legacy embodies MAC’s philosophy.”
MAC Cosmetics worked alongside the Quintanilla family to create the collection. Selena’s sister, Suzette said, “I wanted the colors to be about her personality, what she wore on and offstage.” The products will be named after Selena’s songs.
In a Periscope video, Suzette showed fans a sneak peak of the collection. She debuted a lipstick named after the song, “Como La Flor.” She described it as “a beautiful red tone color.” She also showed the “Dreaming of You” lipstick. Suzette said that the collection will be more than just lipstick and will include eye shadow and blush.

Even though Selena might not be physically with us anymore, her spirit shines through her family, friends, and fans. It is amazing to see Selena’s dream of having her own makeup collection coming true. It is also extremely touching to see such loyal and dedicated fans who continue to support Selena after so many years.
