Single Review: Meghan Trainor’s New Single ‘No’ Is A 2016 Pop Smash

Meghan Trainor is back with a new single entitled ‘No’ and we applaud the new genre direction. While her debut album was filled with doo-wop influences, her new song seems to be taking an R&B flavored route circa late 90’s early 2000’s.

It quite frankly reminds us of Destiny’s Child ‘Bug A Boo’ – perhaps a part two? Whatever the case, it’s chorus ‘My Name Is No, My Sign Is No’ gives off a sassy vibe interpolated with an N’Sync back drop beat. A beautiful pop churning combination.

Meghan actually did a small interview with Ryan Seacrest explaining how the inspiration behind the track was L.A. Reid! When Meghan presented him with her new finished album, he didn’t think she had any good possible lead single.

So what did the lovely lady do? Go back to the studio, write and create a killer song – and THAT she did.
