Determined to take all her listeners on a musical getaway, Stacy Gabel drops her joyful upbeat single and summer-vibing music video, titled “Great Escape”. It’s a stripped-back guitar-led country-pop song airing more on the jovial side than anything else which allows this singer-songwriter to drive the hook right into your brain and make it stay there for the rest of the day. This is the follow-up to her debut EP, titled “Straight to Voicemail”.
Stacy Gabel is an accomplished recording artist, award-winning singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, actress, business owner, and former TV promo producer/writer. Prior to focusing solely on her music career, Stacy Gabel appeared in a variety of TV shows including Malcolm in the Middle, General Hospital, and Charmed, as well as going on to sing a variety of TV & radio jingles including for Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite. After working for many years in TV, film and theatre in both NYC and LA, she returned to Pennsylvania to focus on her music career whilst also being a business co-owner of the successful retail business 2Bhip, and she also teaches private voice and acting/musical theatre classes. She sure is putting in a lot of work, but it’s not a surprise since she is a vocally classically trained soprano, and she can also play a variety of instruments which include acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, mandolin, violin, and the ukulele. If that wasn’t enough, she has been a part of many different music groups, but it’s her solo work that has allowed her to make an impact, managing to gain thousands of Spotify streams for her music tracks, and she’s continually been gaining traction what with her 1k YouTube subscriber fanbase with her videos amassing a total 551k views. Her bright and effervescent music is undeniably catchy and is certainly what is helping her rise as a musical artist.

Written and produced by Stacy Gabel and Anthony Friedman (both of whom worked together at Nickelodeon), “Great Escape” fully encompasses this singer-songwriter’s bubbly personality, from its catchy lyrics to its unforgettable melody that will certainly get stuck inside your head. Fully led by guitar chords that wrap around her sweet vocals, the track dives into various genres from cheesy pop to country drive, and in doing so, it allows Stacy Gabel to tone in on her classically trained soprano voice, giving a theatrical essence to the lyrics she sings. This is one of those tracks that you’ll see yourself listening to again and again as the summer rolls in.
As for the music video, it’s not a surprise to see it take place on the beach – for the most part, allowing the track to fully shine in the sunshine as the sea waves gently hit the sandy beach along the gorgeous surf. Both a narrative and a performance visual, directed by Harry Fisher, we watch as Stacy Gabel spends time with a loved one on a seaside holiday/vacation. They’re clearly enjoying their time together, and the storyline really encapsulates the feel-good vibe of the song. As well as that, the performance scenes are just as good with Stacy Gabel determined to make us feel her sprightly energy and what this song means to her. It all just comes together brilliantly.
