Coming just two months before the December release date of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have finally been given a feature length trailer.
Premiering in the U.S. on ESPN, during Monday night football, the trailer is the third to come from the Star Wars camp. Fans have previously been treated to two teaser trailers, in which they were introduced to a new generation of characters, and a newly designed lightsaber. Teased further with glimpses of old, iconic characters R2-D2 and a burnt out Darth Vader mask.
The latest trailer is keeping its cards just as close to its chest, bringing together old and new, with further exciting shots of much loved Star Wars characters, Han Solo, Princess Leia, (minus her famous hair buns) and Chewbacca.
The plot hints at an ongoing battle fought by previous generations, with new villain Kylo Ren promising to a crushed Darth Vader mask, “I will finish what you started.”
Introducing Daisy Ridley’s Rey, John Boyega’s Finn, and Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, as the three characters to take the lead.
The trailer is the latest news to come in a very exciting week for Star Wars fans. On Sunday the official theatrical poster was released, with tickets going on sale the following day. An event causing many sites in the UK to crash, leading to the belief that this will be the most successful opening weekend in recent cinematic history.
