As they continue their epic return to planet pop in celebration of the 20th anniversary release of their debut album One Touch, the Sugababes today (June 22nd) drop the Blood Orange remix of Same Old Story.
Serving as the latest release of a series of remixes set to feature on a forthcoming reissue of the much loved record, the stunning reinterpretation of the classic album cut sees Blood Orange deliver a beautifully understated piano intro that elegantly builds into a garage-inspired beat complete with “skippy percussive drums and warm, rich pads” that perfectly compliment the Sugababes’ signature vocal harmonies.
Commenting on the new remix of the song, Siobhán Donaghy says: “Dev’s music has become the soundtrack to my life in recent years. For me it was a no brainer to ask him to be involved in our anniversary project given the amazing experience of working with him previously with the girls and also knowing that he grew up with One Touch and understood the record. The brief was simple, pick whatever track you want and do whatever you like with it. For me he has delivered the perfect 2021 update to our sound and I’ve had it on repeat ever since.”
