The Summer Set Go On Indefinite Hiatus

On October 17, The Summer Set announced that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus. With Brian Dales, the lead singer, having left for his solo project earlier this year, this was not unexpected.

The post includes several thank-yous to fans, a well-wishing for Brian and several nostalgic mentions. Among the nostalgia, the band reminisced on their initial goals for the band:

When we first started the band, our goals were simple: to make music, buy a fifteen-passenger van, and play shows anywhere we possible could. Over the years, we were fortunate enough to watch it grow.

Each of The Summer Set members took to Twitter to share the post and add their own remarks.

Brian Dales posted on his Tumblr blog, which you can read here. Within this post, Brian wrote about his struggles with music, his mental health and tour life. He also thanked each band member individually and wrote something to fans of the band.

Jess Bowen is currently on tour with NEKOCAT, her newest project. None of the other members — John Gomez, Stephen Gomez or Joshua Montgomery — have stated where they’re headed next.

We wish all member of The Summer Set the best. And we hope to hear new music from them all soon.
