Following a five-month creative break, Tally Spear is back with new single ‘City Girl’.
Kicking off with grungy riffs, it’s clear Tally Spear is returning with a purpose. ‘City Girl’ is a bold new sound which sees Spear beef up production for a swinging alt-pop flick.
The dreamy strums of 2018’s debut EP, Fade To White, seem a long way away now. Despite the success of that first foray into the industry, something hadn’t quite clicked for Spear. A bold choice to take five months writing new material at British Grove Studios today materialises with ‘City Girl’.
“Something just happened with my taste. I just went through a change of what I was listening to when I was writing. It just became this new sound. I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to do in terms of production.”

Attracting attention from the likes of Clash Magazine and Noctis Magazine, Spear has also featured on BBC Introducing. Now, with a biting new single and determined sound, 2019 looks to be a new era for the young artist.
