Well, the countdown is over, the clues all make sense now, and there is new Taylor Swift music! Swift released “ME!” featuring Panic! at this Disco‘s Brendon Urie at midnight on April 26th.
The day before, Swift showed up at a butterfly mural in Nashville that was a hint to her new music. She told the crowd that another hint was coming on ABC that night, where she revealed the song name.
She told Robin Roberts on ABC that “ME!” is about individuality. She wanted to put out a song that makes people feel better about themselves and she definitely delivered that message with the song and music video.

The video references many clues to past videos and songs and details of her life. It is shiny and filled with pastels and shows Swift’s best self.
She is “doing better than she ever was” with this new era.
One major clue that Swift left in the video was that she adopted another cat. Urie hands her a kitten and it makes her super happy. She later confirmed the new addition with a cute Instagram post.
It was not confirmed if this was the lead single off of her upcoming album or just a fun, free-spirited song. If this is the lead single, it would be her first lead as a collaboration. Urie’s and her vocals together make it a dream come true.
The song was met with mixed reviews at first, but then again so was “Look What You Made Me Do” and now that is the anthem for the fandom.
We are here for the beautiful colors and themes. We are so excited to see what she releases next and will be bopping along to “ME!” until then.
“ME!” is available now everywhere.
