Last night, some of the world’s biggest names in music gathered at Madison Square Garden for the annual MTV Video Music Awards. One famous face that was notably missing was Taylor Swift. However, it seems that the ‘Blank Space’ singer had a more important appointment to attend to – jury duty.
Images have emerged of Swift serving jury duty in Nashville today. Her fellow jurors were understandably shocked to see the singer, however, not even famous faces are exempt from doing their civic duties.
Members of the jury took to social media to share pictures of Swift during the proceedings, and revealed that the singer was happy to pose for a few selfies too!

It’s great to see Taylor Swift undertaking her civic duty! However, she isn’t the first celebrity to do so. Most notably, Madonna was requested to undertake jury service back in 2014 but was excused after just two hours, as her presence would have created a distraction in the jury selection process.
