The Global Awards 2019 With Very.co.uk – Everything You Need To Know

The Global Awards with Very.co.uk returns on Thursday 7th March for its second year celebrating the biggest stars in music, news and entertainment.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the star-studded ceremony:

WHAT IS THE GLOBAL AWARDS 2019 WITH VERY.CO.UK?

The Global Awards 2019 with Very.co.uk is an annual awards ceremony from Global, the Media & Entertainment group, which is home to the UK’s biggest and best loved commercial radio stations including Capital, Heart, Classic FM, Smooth, Radio X, Capital XTRA, Gold and LBC.  The awards bring together all Global’s radio brands for one night to honour an array of talent across a host of popular categories.

WHEN IS THE GLOBAL AWARDS 2019 WITH VERY.CO.UK?

The star-studded ceremony will take place on 7th March 2019 at London’s iconic Eventim Apollo Hammersmith.

WHO IS HOSTING?

Heart’s Rochelle Humes, Capital Breakfast’s Roman Kemp and Classic FM and Smooth presenter Myleene Klass will return to host this year’s Global Awards ceremony. Stars from the worlds of music, news and entertainment will also be welcomed to the stage to announce the winners of each award category.

WHO IS PERFORMING?

One of the world’s biggest girl bands, Little Mix, will perform for stars and fans alike. Stockport indie heroes Blossoms, superstar DJ and Producer Mark Ronson, British songstress Anne-Marie, piano virtuoso Lang Lang and last year’s Rising Star award recipient, Mabel, are all on the bill for the second annual Global Awards with Very.co.uk.

WHERE CAN I WATCH?

The entire awards ceremony will be streamed live at at global.com/awards and via Global’s world class entertainment hub – The Global Player app: select ‘Global Awards’ in the bottom menu. The live stream will start at 19:30 on Thursday 7th March, with pre-ceremony moments from the blue carpet coming in from 17:00.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE GLOBAL AWARDS 2018?

2018 was the inaugural show and featured spectacular live appearances from Sam Smith, Liam Payne, Andrea Bocelli, Kasabian, Rita Ora and Martin Garrix. Other highlights included Little Mix picking up three awards on the night for ‘Best Song’‘Best Group’ and ‘Best British Artist or Group’ and Stormzy taking home the ‘Best RnB, Hip Hop & Grime’ award.

HOW CAN I BUY TICKETS?

Tickets are no longer available to purchase and the only way in is to win. Listeners can tune in to Capital and Heart to be in with a chance of winning a ticket.

WHO VOTES FOR THE GLOBAL AWARDS WITH VERY.CO.UK AND HOW DO AWARD NOMINEES AND WINNERS GET DECIDED?

The public and a panel of industry experts will vote for The Global Awards. Six categories are open to public vote; Best Song with Metro; Best Group; Rising Star Award; Social Media Superstar; Best Classical Artist and Best RnB, Hip-Hop & Grime.
