It seems like Christmas is coming early this year, with the news that country band The Rising are going to be releasing their brand new festive single called, “This Special Time Of Year,” in less than a week’s time. Ho, ho, ho, ho-w exciting is that?!
The five-piece made up of Chantelle McAteer, Brian Mellors, Carla Crawford, Chris Logan and Shane Watters are ringing in the holiday season with the track, which is coming in the lead up to the release of their forthcoming album which is expected to drop in 2018.
The Rising’s seasonal new single, “This Special Time Of Year,” was recorded in their hometown of Belfast in between their own studio, Renegade Studios, and Plethora Tone Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. And after having the track on repeat all day long, we can definitely hear the international vibes within it. With a fantastic blend of cheery holiday sparkle, a super catchy chorus and lots of country flare, we think it has all the makings of a perfect Christmas jingle and we love it.
Check it out below… But be prepared to have it stuck in your head for a few hours afterwards. It’s about as contagious as a winter cold but in the best way! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

In the run up to the release of, “This Special Time Of Year,” on 8th December, The Rising have said that they want their fans to pick up on the message that they are sending out with the track. They hope it reflects the fun and easy-going feeling of Christmas while also bringing a moment of joy to everyone who listens to it.
Following the release of the single, The Rising will aim to get to work completing their sophomore album which is currently set for release in early 2018. We will be keeping our eyes peeled for that, for sure.
