The 77th Tony Awards took centre stage on June 16, celebrating the finest achievements in Broadway productions from the 2023–24 season. Held at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater in New York City, the ceremony was once again hosted by the charismatic Ariana DeBose, marking her third consecutive year as host.
As the curtain falls on the 2023-2024 Broadway season, the Tony Awards 2024 highlighted the year’s most remarkable productions. Stereophonic emerged as a major winner, securing five of its thirteen nominations, while Merrily We Roll Along and The Outsiders garnered four awards each. Appropriate took home three Tony Awards, and Hell’s Kitchen and Suffs won two Tony Awards each.
The night was not only about the awards; it was also filled with unforgettable performances (Alicia Keys and Jay Z doing “Empire State of Mind”! The fight choreo from The Outsiders! The acrobatics from Water for Elephants!), surprise appearances, and heartfelt speeches and tributes (long live Chita Rivera—and Nicole Scherzinger!) that left a lasting impression on all attendees.
