Tom Parker, former boyband member-turned-producer, has just released a new house track called “Lost In Your Love”. Not only did Tom produce and co-write the track, but he’s also decided to sing on this track himself, for the first time since The Wanted’s hiatus!
“Lost In Your Love” was premiered on Digital Spy earlier today. It won’t be formally released as a single, however, it has been shared as a thank you to fans for sticking by Tom.
When asked why he decided to put his vocals on this track, he told Digital Spy: “It was one of those things where I vocaled it and I kinda thought it sounded pretty good the way it is. It was never my intention to be on it.”
At the end of last year, Tom released two new tracks which featured guest vocalists, however, this is the first time that Tom has featured his own vocals on his new material. We met with Tom last month, and when asked whether he would be singing on any future tracks, he said: “I think I will do, I think people like Calvin Harris has a fine balance between singing on certain records and producing records. When you come out of a band as a singer, you really have to distinguish what you are as an artist, and what I am as an artist is a producer and the DJing kinda comes with that, as in live stuff. Ultimately my main focus is engineering and producing music.”
“Lost In Your Love” has a really chilled, summer vibe to it – perfect to listen to if you want to escape the winter blues. It’s also brilliant to hear Tom’s voice again, however in the future, it looks as though he will stick to using guest vocalists for his tracks as he wants to focus on producing. Tom told Digital Spy: “When I was in The Wanted, I was always by the producers and engineers asking questions. So when we decided to take a break, I wanted to give this a shot full-time.”
Whether he sings on his new material or not, we’re so excited to hear what else Tom will produce this year. He’s also hoping to release a solo EP – we can’t wait!
