Troye Sivan Performs ‘WILD’ in an Elevator and Surprises Fans!

It seems like there has been a trend of musicians surprising their fans recently. From Selena Gomez surprising a fan in her bedroom to Little Mix surprising a fan at McDonald’s for her birthday, you never know when or where your favourite singer could appear next!

You might remember a few weeks ago when The Vamps, Craig David, and Jess Glynne surprised fans with live elevator music as apart of The BBC’s short series “Lift Music”. Well, Troye Sivan has jumped on the lift trend and surprised fans by hosting his own mini elevator concert!

Troye was visiting the Hit30 radio station while in Australia for his Blue Neighbourhood tour. The radio station invited groups of Troye’s biggest fans to the radio building and told them they were there for a tour around the building. What the fans didn’t know was that their idol was in the building, more specifically on the other side of the elevator doors!

Troye performed his hit song WILD, and was accompanied by a keyboard and makeshift drum. A security guard pressed the buttons and as the doors opened Troye was greeted by a small group of excited and unsuspecting fans on each floor.

You can watch the full video here!

It was hilarious to watch the shock of the fans and Troye’s reaction when the doors opened. Perhaps the funniest part was when the elevator stopped at a floor where there were only a couple people-who had no idea who Troye was! Since they stopped at the same floors a couple times, the fans even started to choreograph a synchronized move to do once the doors opened, including a dab!

This was an interesting idea and a unique way to surprise fans and promote Troye’s music at the same time. It’s always a treat when we get to watch or participate in creative methods of fan interaction and promotion. Hit30 must know that Troye appreciates thinking outside the box, after he sent fans on a worldwide scavenger hunt for a VCR containing his new music video.

We can’t wait to see what unique scheme Troye gets involved in next. For now, we can only hope he’ll be on the other side every time we’re waiting for an elevator…
