After almost 2 years of waiting, Netflix finally released the highly anticipated third season of the popular series, Stranger Things and we are not disappointed. This could possibly be the best season yet.

While others may take their time watching the new episodes, we decided to binge watch the episodes within a day and it was well worth the wait. With amazing special effects, smooth cuts, and overall amazing acting, you can’t go wrong.

    WARNING: possible spoilers ahead!!

It’s summertime Hawkins, Indiana (the week of Fourth of July to be exact) and the unfortunate events of creepy creatures in the small town just keep coming. This time, it’s an even bigger and badder monster than in previous seasons. In season 2, Eleven closed the gate to the Upside Down, preventing evil demogorgons from entering the real world, but Russian scientists reopen it. The whole gang teams up to fight the “Mind Flayer,”  who captures Hawkins citizens and possess them, and the Russian villains who caused the issues.

The third chapter in the Stranger Things universe brings out the true aesthetic of the 1980’s, with the colorful clothes, iconic hairstyles, memorable movies, and stores located in the brand new Starcourt Mall including Sam Goody and Waldenbooks.

We are also introduced to new characters. Robin, a girl that went to school with Steve Harrington who now works with him at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream Parlor. The mayor of Hawkins, Larry Kline is up to no good as he is working with the Russian villains. However, some of the Russian characters aren’t as bad as they seem in the beginning.

The newest season is full of laughter, frustration, fear and sadness. It is quite scary and some scenes can be intense for some viewers. We suggest having the tissues ready by the 8th and final episode.

When you’ve reached the end credits of the final episode, be sure to stick around because there may or may not be a special scene that could lead to a possible new season. However, season 4 has yet to be confirmed.

Stranger Things 3 is now streaming on Netflix.
