Hailing from Bristol, Rhode Island, pop duo Tyler and Ryan Falcoa released their new single, “Tempted,” moments ago.
The two brothers formed a classic rock cover band after Tyler suffered an injury playing football. A short time later, they lived through a lethal house fire, which motivated them to begin writing music as an emotional outlet.
In 2010, they started a YouTube channel, ‘Tyler & Ryan,’ posting original interpretations of Top 40 songs, followed by winning Ryan Seacrest’s ‘Best Cover of All About That Bass.’ Later, they worked with Charlie Puth and Ludacris on Seacrest’s ‘Best.Cover.Ever.,’ on YouTube. The duo opened for Michaelson, Shaggy, and One Republic at Mixfest in Boston, playing for an audience of 50,000.
2018 found the brothers releasing seven singles, amassing 2 million streams on Spotify, and collecting 25 million views on ‘Tyler & Ryan.’ During 2019, Tyler and Ryan plan on releasing even more music.
Describing their sound as “retro & real,” the younger of the two brothers, Ryan, handles the lead vocals, while Tyler takes care of writing and producing. In fact, like Rumpelstiltskin spinning straw into gold, the brothers write, record, and produce their hit songs in their basement.
“Tempted” opens on emerging synths topped by filtered vocals flowing into a potent pop rhythm. Ryan’s posh high tones infuse the lyrics with cool polished flavors, as skiffing guitars inject tight accents, giving the tune trembling ripples of EDM dynamics. Radiant harmonies imbue the tune with glowing dimension and vibrant resonance.

A tasty gleaming solo section capped by a delicious falsetto segues into a softly luminous breakdown, followed by layers of scrumptious harmonies. Melodically, the tune blends tantalizing washes of pop with thumping house-lite dynamics, as well as swanked-out R&B filaments. The sonic effect is stylish elegance pulsing with glossy muscle.
