X-Factor Alumni Union J have left the UK behind, jetting off to sunny LA to record their 3rd album stateside! The album will be their first since George Shelley left the band by a mutual agreement, with fellow X-Factor Alumni and Ex Stereokicks singer Casey Johnson replacing him in the four piece!

The boys, Josh Cuthbert, Jaymi Hensley and newbie Casey caused a bit of a stir on Twitter, though, when it seemed like they might be down ANOTHER member after band mate JJ Hamblett failed to show up in any of the pictures, nor was he tagged in any of the tweets! JJ, who recently kicked off an acting career with a role in the filmTango One based on an acclaimed book, had everybody thinking he’d followed George out the door, but later Tweeted that he simply didn’t have his passport in time to travel to the states with his bandmates.

Sad not to be with the boys in LA @UnionJworld received passport to late #OnlyMe ?

While the boys look as though they’ve been having fun in LA, they’ve been working hard too, with Cuthbert tweeting that he is “Living the dream” after working with Grammy Award Winning writers and producers in the studio. Cuthbert had previously said that he was excited to be starting work on Union J’s third album after what he called “a difficult 6 months”.

Judging from their social media feeds, the band have bonded well with newcomer Casey, with Josh even touting their friendship as the start of a new bromance!

The new music, expected to come at the end of the year to coincide with the boys latest tour (Details of which can be found here and which we are beyond excited for!), is exciting the singers just as much as it’s exciting the fans, with all of the boys (except UK bound JJ) tweeting about how much they’re loving the new music and their time in LA.

Honestly guys , the new music is sounding ?! I can't wait for you guys to hear it… Ahhhhhh ????

We’re glad to see Union J aren’t letting recent hard times get the better of them, and we cannot wait to hear their new music.
