“Sick” is the latest single taken from stunning Scottish singer-songwriter Elle Exxe’s upcoming debut album Love Fuelled Hate, to be released on October 7th.
Love Fuelled Hate has already been receiving amazing reviews before it is even officially launched. Elle is featured on the cover of the current issue of Classic Pop Magazine, who said her album, “invites comparisons to Charli XCX and Katy Perry but at times even outclasses them…”
Q called it, “A promising pop debut”, and The Scotsman said, “a confident debut album… with Exxe outflanking many of her supposedly sassy peers for upfront attitude.”
“Sick”, the singer’s newest single, is not just a song about love and heartbreak. It is also a song about infidelity and distrust.
The video itself is very hypnotic with its almost 80’s themed animation that are in vivid shades of purples, blues, and pinks. Aside from being an official music video, it also doubled as a lyric video. It had the lyrics of the song flash on the screen in various fonts and styles that fit what the message of the song is about.
The frames of the animation do not run as smooth as one would expect, however the slight lag of it just adds to the 80’s aesthetic of the video and it actually strings everything together.
The Scottish star is also in big international demand. She’s just returned from New York where she played three shows and also did a surprise takeover gig at Google HQ. Next week she’s jetting off to South Korea to play four shows also.
In London, Elle will be performing at the Unsigned Music Awards on October 27th, but before this she will be playing her album launch show at 229, which is being held in association with Time Out on October 12th.
