Watch: Meghan Trainor releases sassy music video for ‘I’m A Lady’

Meghan Trainor never disappoints when it comes to writing an empowering single that has us on our feet.

The pop sensation just dropped the music video for her new song “I’m A Lady,” which is the lead track off of the forthcoming Smurfs: The Lost Village soundtrack.

“I don’t look like them (I ain’t worried about it)/ I don’t talk like them (I ain’t worried about it)/ I know I’m a gem (I ain’t worried about it)/ I ain’t worried about it ’cause I’m a lady,” Trainor sings during the track’s chorus, which is followed by an immense drop.

While in an abandoned warehouse, the “All About That Bass” hitmaker rocks several bold outfit changes during the fun-filled video, from princess to jock. Trainor’s message here is evident— women have the power and capability to do anything they set their minds to. She is accompanied by an all-female band and the little Smurf stars themselves, who seem to have taken a liking to the musical equipment.

Over the weekend, Trainor shared an adorable Instagram of her father Gary enjoying the visual. She captioned the video, “When your dad is your number 1 fan. I love you GT.”

Smurfs: The Lost Village hits theaters April 7. The 3D film features a star-studded cast including Ellie Kemper, Demi Lovato, Ariel Winter and Julia Roberts.
