WATCH: RJ Thompson’s ‘Echo Chamber’ Video

RJ Thompson has gained major recognition in recent months as one of the countries strongest up and coming singer/songwriters. His poignant lyrics perfectly capture the mood of the past 12 months, with songs that resonate with listeners.

RJ is an artist who has had to work hard for every great opportunity that has come his way, getting his big break, through consistently playing grass-roots music venues, pubs and clubs in his native North-East. And it was one night in Hartlepool where his extensive hard work paid off. A sound engineer at an open mic night was working with Live Aid organiser and Ultravox frontman Midge Ure. The engineer loved what he heard and submitted RJ as a support act, leading to more than 30 shows touring across the UK and Europe. Support slots with Gabrielle Aplin, Deacon Blue and Jools Holland soon followed as well as several EP releases and a live album. Now, RJ is garing up for the release of his his first studio album.

‘Echo Chamber’ will be released on November 17th, and the rising star has released a magical/nostalgic music video to accompany the single of the same name. Speaking about the clip RJ Thompson says: “I have always believed that musicians, artists, authors… they all have  a responsibility at least to some degree, to hold up a mirror to society.”
