TikTok star Max Balegde will bring together stars of screen, stage and social media for one night only at the We Stand With You fundraiser at The Clapham Grand on Wednesday night.

The event was brought about after comments from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at last month’s Conservative Party Conference. Max took to social media to share his hurt at transphobia affecting the LGBTQ+ community and a desire to use his platform of 3.5 million followers for change.

All proceeds raised on the night will go to trans-led grassroots charity Not A Phase. The charity was founded in 2020 and focuses ‘solely on the support of trans+ and gender diverse adults’. Here’s all you need to know.

Line-up confirmed for Max Balegde’s We Stand With You fundraiser

The TikTok star and organisers have pulled together a bumper line-up for The Clapham Grand fundraiser with the night to be headlined by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Bimini. The performer has caused waves in the dance music scene this year with the release of her breakthrough When the Party Ends EP.

Bimini will be joined by fellow RPDR UK alumni Black Peppa and Ginny Lemon along with actor and comedian Rob Madge. TikTok sensation Bailey J Mills and burlesque star Sadie Sinner are also on the bill.

Sex Education stars Ant Lexa and Felix Mufti will also be present along with Big Brother’s Hallie Clarke, TikTokers Jack Remmington, Joe Baggs and many, many more.

How to get tickets for We Stand With You at The Clapham Grand

Tickets for We Stand With You are available via Dice for £15.45. All the money raised will go to support the work of trans rights charity Not A Phase.

The event can also be livestreamed via an online ticket, available for a minimum donation of £5.

The Clapham Grand will open its doors at 6:30 pm for a show start at 7:30 pm. Curfew is at 11 pm.

What has Max Balegde said about the event?

Max said: “Over the last few weeks I have been working tirelessly with an amazing group of people to put something together, in support of the trans community. I think I have found the perfect solution and I am so excited about it. We are doing a variety show, fundraising event.

“We are working on an amazing line-up. I wanted to let you guys [on TikTok] know first as you have been with me on this journey. Since I came up with the idea I have felt so much passion on the back of what was going on in the country. I have put that into action.

“I am so ready for this and there are so many faces that you will know there. We are working tirelessly on the line-up… all proceeds are going to charity. We have also partnered with trans-led charity Not A Phase.

“I have been so overwhelmed by this but so glad that you have all been with me on this journey. I am so excited and hope you are too.”
