Matt Terry, who won ‘X Factor’ 2016 on Sunday, just signed a record deal with RCA.
By signing with RCA, the 23-year-old singer won’t be following in the footsteps of other ‘X Factor’ winners by signing with Simon Cowell’s label Syco. It also means that Cowell will not directly guide Terry’s career, as he has done with former X Factor winners such as Little Mix and James Arthur.

According to The Sun, RCA wants to turn Terry into the next Olly Murs who is also signed to the label. In a statement, a Sony Music spokesman confirmed: “Matt Terry is now part of the Sony Music family.”
Terry’s winner’s single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’, which is written by Ed Sheeran, is currently at number five in the charts and it is favourite to top the charts next week.
